POEMS
"YOUR LOVE IS SUFFICIENT JUST FOR ME"
LORD YOU GAVE YOUR SON FOR ALL MY SINS
SHED HIS BLOOD ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT
I'M PRAISING YOUR NAME FROM DEEP WITHIN
CROWNED HIS HEAD DURING THAT TOTUREOUS FIGHT
NO MATTER THE TIMES I TURNED YOU AWAY
YOU KEPT ME NEAR EACH AND EVERY DAY
THERE WERE SO MANY DOUBTS ABOUT MY FAITH
NOW I REALIZE YOU ARE THE LIGHT, THE WAY
YOUR LOVE IS SUFFICIENT JUST FOR ME
THERE IS NO GREATER POWER THAT COME FROM THEE
OPENED MY EYES, FILLED MY HEART AND SAVED MY SOUL
I'M IN A BETTER PLACE, YOU MADE ME WHOLE
GIVING HONOR AND PRAISE TO YOU, MY FATHER ON HIGH
GOT MY HANDS IN YOU HANDS UNTIL I DIE
THANK YOU LORD FOR SACRIFICING YOUR SON
YOU ARE THE OMNIPETENT OF ALL, THE ONLY ME
YOUR LOVE IS SUFFICIENT JUST FOR ME
GREATFUL I AM IN PRAISING THEE.

"The Conversation"
It is asked what I want.
My response, the norm.
I want happiness, love, and support.
Yet, I understand that is goes both ways.
It is stated that I must not press.
I must respect the stresses of life.
My response, I can.
I understand that one has doubts.
Yet, I understand that I can help.
It is commented that I am selfish.
My response, I can be, as can anyone.
My question to you,
"What am I to do when my responses are as stated"?
What is your response?

"I look Up"
I look up at the sky.
Somewhere up there
He's looking down
Watching us.
But, if we reach out
to him up there,
He will give us
The courage we need
To be free.
To live
In the hope
And joy
Of our future,
As he intended
It to be.

"In The Morning"
As stars at night obtain their form,
a tender heart in darkness mourns;
and 'weeping endures through the night,
but joy comes in the morning" light.
No tender words of sympathy,
can fill the space that's now empty.
No comfort for what no more be,
but mind filled of their memory.
Who understands such precious loss,
'cept He who died upon the cross;
While loved ones felt the bitter pain,
Until they saw His face again.
He sees your tears for whom you miss,
Yet all He asks of you is this;
When you surpass the grieving pain,
Rejoice 'til their face again!

NARRATIVES
* A narrative is a general term for a long or short story (told for any purpose), drawn from personal experiences.I Remember
By Justice Smith
I remember waking up and going through my morning routine.
I remember walking across campus to visit my professor.
I remember my professor said, "Did you hear, there was a terrible accident. A plane flew into one of the twin towers".
I remember walking back to my apartment, not giving it that much thought.
I remember turning on the television and finding that another plane had hit the twin towers.
I remember thinking, "This was no accident".
I remember being glued to the TV and hearing about a plane hitting the Pentagon.
I remember hearing yet another plane had crashed in the Pennsylvania countryside.
I remember with horrific awe the sight of the first one, and then the second tower as they fell.
I remember the look of shock, fear, anger, and grief on the faces of those I met that day.
I remember seeing news footage from around the world as many people mourned with us.
I remember seeing footage from the streets of Pakistan as people danced and cheered at the news.
I remember a country that came together in the face of adversity.
I remember people saying that they would never forget.
I remember that time passed and people's spirits began to heal.
I remember that the pettiness of our disparate ideologies began to creep back in.
I remember watching the news and hearing words like "partisan" on a daily basis.
I remember when "I" became "We", and I see that "We" has again become "I".
